The club can offer trained divers training to further advance their skills. We acknowledge existing diver qualifications issued by other diving agencies. The minimum diver grade we accept is SAA One Star Diver and we encourage all divers to aim for the SAA/CMAS Two Star Diver as a minimum as this grade will provide the average diver with the key skills to dive anywhere in the world.

SAA/CMAS One Star Diver
The following divers grades are considered to be the equivalent to the SAA/CMAS One Star Diver:
- BSAC Ocean Diver
Sport Diver (Until ten additional dives logged) - PADI Open Water Diver & Advanced Open Water Diver
- SAA Open Water Diver (Legacy Grade)
Club Diver (Legacy Grade) (Until ten additional dives logged) - SCOTSAC Sport Diver (SD) (Until ten additional dives logged)
SAA/CMAS Two Star Diver
The following divers grades are considered to be the equivalent to the SAA/CMAS Two Star Diver:
- BSAC Sport Diver (With ten additional dives logged)
- SAA Club Diver (Legacy Grade) (With ten additional dives logged)
- SCOTSAC Sport Diver (SD) (With ten additional dives logged)
SAA Dive Leader (CMAS Two Star Diver)
The following divers grades are considered to be the equivalent to the SAA Dive Leader:
- BSAC Dive Leader
- PADI Dive Master
- SCOTSAC Sport Diver with Dive Leader endorsement
SAA Dive Supervisor (CMAS Three Star Diver)
The following divers grades are considered to be the equivalent to the SAA Dive Supervisor:
- BSAC Advanced Diver and above
- SCOTSAC Master Diver
SAA National Diver (CMAS Four Star Diver)
The SAA National Diver is the highest diver grade and is only awarded by the SAA National Diving Officer following national theory and practical assessments.
